Privacy Policy
Last updated:
SofaScroll is a two-person app for sharing and watching short videos together. This page describes what we store, why, and how to delete it.
What we store
- An anonymous Firebase Auth ID. Created on first launch. It is not tied to your name, email, or phone number.
- Your pairing. The two anonymous IDs that paired together, an optional nickname you typed, and a pairing code.
- The links you share. URLs you send into the app from TikTok, Instagram, YouTube or X, plus the public metadata (title, thumbnail, author) those platforms publish via their official oEmbed endpoints.
- A push-notification token (FCM). Used so we can tell your partner when you add a new video. Stored on your couple's document.
- Crash and analytics events. Anonymous, aggregated. Firebase Crashlytics for stack traces. Firebase Analytics for counts of named events (videos added, sessions started, etc.).
What we do not do
- We do not have accounts, emails, or passwords.
- We do not use your TikTok, Instagram, YouTube or X login or cookies.
- We do not download, re-host, or scrape the videos themselves. We only store the link.
- We do not share your data with third parties for advertising.
- We do not have access to anything outside your own couple's queue.
Where it lives
All data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore, scoped per couple. Security rules enforce that only the two paired users can read or write their couple's data.
Deleting your data
Uninstalling the app removes your local state. To delete your shared queue, email hello@sofascroll.com with the pairing code shown in the app's Settings screen and we will remove the couple document and all videos linked to it.
Children
SofaScroll is not intended for users under 13.
